多数人使用气压式避震器最主要的目的并非以舒适性为主,随时调整车身底盘的高低才是换装气压式避震器最主要的诉求。气压避震是用气囊来替代弹簧的减震作用,然后在使用控制系统给气囊充气,充气量愈多车身就上升愈高,反之则会让车身降低,所以气压避震主要的目的是控制高低,而避震功能还是以原本的弹簧、减震筒为主。

   气动避震是比较精密的零件,与原厂的避震不一样,气动避震器上面各有一个弹性橡胶气囊,弹性橡胶气囊的工作原理是在密闭的压力缸内充入惰性气体或者油气混合物,使腔体内的压力高于大气压的几倍或者几十倍,利用活塞杆的横截面积小于活塞的横截面积从而产生的压力差来实现活塞杆的运动。气动避震不适合在各种复杂的路况上行驶,长期在颠簸的路上驾驶会导致气动避震慢性漏气、气压不稳、气罐内温度升高,最终失去气动调节的精准度。

气动避震拥有着其他避震无法比拟的优点,那就是车辆通过性强,车辆的底盘能随意升降。司机可以根据不同的路况调整车身的高度,在高速上把车身降低,风阻就会减小,油耗也会有一定的降低。在乡下道路则可以升高车身,通过性强。用气动避震实现低趴是一种非常好的方法。
