领克是由吉利控股集团、吉利汽车集团与沃尔沃汽车合资成立的新时代高端品牌，集欧洲技术、欧洲设计、全球制造、全球销售为一体  ，基于由沃尔沃汽车主导，吉利汽车与沃尔沃汽车联合开发的CMA中级车基础模块架构建立，于2016年10月20日在柏林发布；由坐落于哥德堡的吉利汽车欧洲研发中心（CEVT）和哥德堡设计团队负责研发与设计，并将与沃尔沃汽车在中国共享制造基地；按照与沃尔沃同样的质量标准、制造工艺生产具有品质的汽车产品 。
